Take A Trip

The greatest learning takes place if information is combined with actual experience out in the Albuquerque environment. Combining ideas and experiences allows students to analyze and synthesize an understanding of community. As often as possible, take your students on a trip. At the end of each section, in the white pages, look for the pie wedge. It has suggestions for for field trips that originate in school and broaden out to the larger Albuquerque environment. Because it is often hard to get buses for field trips, teachers will have to pick and choose those experiences that will best reinforce learning. Encourage families to take trips, too.
